And the memories remain.......... Oct 4 ,2010

I went to Khan Market today. The whole place has been lit up signaling the advent of festive season in Delhi. Me thinks it might have something to do with the whole ‘polishing the city for CWG’ as well. Regardless it looked beautiful, made me think of the countless festive seasons shared with family and the wonderful memories.

As children, this time of the year was one of the most awaited for us. Starting with Durga Puja, followed by Diwali and finally culminating with Christmas and New Year. One of my fondest memories is of Durga Puja during which we partook in various cultural activities. As the days for Puja came closer so did the frequency of our ‘rehearsals’- which were more about having fun than actually practicing our various acts. Sigh. How I miss those days of pure, unadulterated fun.

What about you guys? Any thoughts on the festive season? Memories to share? As for me – I need a smoke after all the heavy duty nostalgia. Later Gators!
